The Club was established in 1958 through a government Private Recreation Lease land grant. It owes its modest beginning to a shared love for tennis amongst its 12 Founding and a handful of Associate Members.

Today, despite the many developments from its humble clay court days, the KTHOA has retained its original identity of an uncrowded recreation club allowing members to combine the joy of sports with socializing.
